Odessa, TX (December 15, 2021) – An elderly man has lost his life following a pedestrian accident in Odessa on Saturday evening, December 11. At around 5 p.m., authorities were notified that a crash took place on Williams Avenue.

Reports from authorities show that 80year-old Jose Acosta was walking in the area of Williams Avenue and Murphy Street. For unknown reasons, he was struck by a train passing through the area.

Acosta sustained severe injuries in the accident. Emergency crews arrived at the scene to render aid to the victim. However, he was pronounced deceased from his injuries.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
