Palestine, TX (January 19, 2022) – An auto accident reported on Saturday evening claimed one woman’s life in Palestine. At around 9:30 p.m., on January 15, the police responded to the scene of a crash on South Loop 356.
Reports from local authorities show that 41-year-old Kandy Sexton was struck by a white Ford pickup truck on Interstate 20 near Old Elkhart Road.
Sexton suffered fatal injuries in the accident and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the Ford, 30-year-old Colby Gholston, fled the scene of the accident. Gholston was later apprehended and charged with driving while intoxicated.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
