Port Arthur, TX (February 19, 2022) – An auto accident reported in the Port Arthur area on Tuesday has taken one person’s life. On February 15, the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the site of a motor vehicle accident on Highway 73.
Reports from authorities show that three vehicles were involved in a collision in the 4000 block of Highway 73 during the afternoon hours. The incident caused severe delays in the area as emergency crews worked to clear the roadway.
The crash resulted in the temporary shutdown of all westbound lanes of the highway, prompting the police to redirect traffic out of the area.
One person involved in the accident suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
At this time, the number of people who suffered injuries in the crash is not known.
The incident remains under investigation.
