Riviera, TX (February 12, 2022) – An auto accident reported just seven miles west of Riviera claimed one person’s life on Tuesday evening, February 8. At around 11 p.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the scene of a crash on Texas State Highway 285.
Reports from DPS indicate that Freightliner was traveling west on Texas State Highway 285 when it struck a male pedestrian during the evening hours.
The pedestrian sustained fatal injuries in the accident. Authorities arrived on-site and pronounced the victim deceased.
At this time, DPS is investigating to determine the cause of the crash.
