Rye, TX (December 24, 2021) – A motor vehicle accident reported on Tuesday evening in Liberty County has claimed one woman’s life. At around 4 p.m., on December 21, calls for assistance came in surrounding an auto accident on Texas State Highway 146.

Preliminary investigations surrounding the crash show that a Peterbilt tractor-trailer was towing a trailer loaded with a bulldozer south on Texas State Highway 146. For unknown reasons, the vehicle collided with a Mercury Grand Marquis near Farm to Market Road 787.

The impact of the crash left the Marquis with severe damage.

The front-seat passenger in the Marquis, 36-year-old Mandy Rollins of Liberty, Texas, was declared deceased at the scene due to the injuries suffered in the crash.

The driver of the Marquis, 48-year-old Sue Cuevas of Liberty, Texas, was rushed to Kingwood Medical Center with serious injuries.

One back seat passenger, 32-year-old James Tullous was critically injured in the accident and rushed to a local hospital for care. A 10-year-old female was also in the back seat. However, it was not noted whether she was injured.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
