Splendora, TX (February 16, 2023) – A truck driver was killed after being involved in an accident with a train in the Splendora area on Monday, February 13.
The deadly crash was reported at around 7:30 a.m. at a railroad line near Midline Road. A southbound train hit an 18-wheeler as it crossed the train track. The truck was dragged for several miles. Local authorities reported that there were no guard arms or lights at the crossing.
The driver of the truck suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased has not been revealed at this time.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the fatal accident is in progress.
