Stanton, TX – One Injured in Fatal Crash on Highway 176

Stanton, TX (May 21, 2022) – A motor vehicle accident reported on Monday evening in Martin County has claimed one person’s life while leaving a second person injured. At around 5 p.m., on May 16, the Texas Department of Public Safety was dispatched to an auto accident on South Highway 176.

Reports provided by DPS indicate that a 63-year-old woman was driving a truck west on South Highway 176 when her vehicle collided with an eastbound truck.

The woman and the driver of the truck, identified as a twenty-two-year-old female, were both transported to area hospitals for medical care.

Authorities confirmed that the sixty-three-year-old woman succumbed to her injuries after arriving.

At this time, the circumstances surrounding the accident are under investigation.
