Sulphur Springs, TX – Fadi Kathawa Loses Life in Truck Crash on I-30

Sulphur Springs, TX (March 12, 2022) – A truck accident reported in Hopkins County claimed one person’s life. At around 11 p.m., on March 9, emergency crews were requested on-site at a traffic-related incident on Interstate 30.

Reports from authorities show that 29-year-old Fadi Kathawa was driving a 2016 Freightliner truck while towing a trailer east on Interstate 30. For unknown reasons, his vehicle became involved in a collision. The truck then collided with a 208 International truck.

Kathawa was ejected from his vehicle. Emergency crews rushed to the scene to treat the victim. However, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the second truck, 33-year-old Lester Brown, was treated for injuries.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
