Taylor, TX (November 26, 2021) – A head-on collision reported in Tyler County claimed the lives of two victims, according to local law enforcement. At around 4:34 a.m., on November 20, calls for assistance came in surrounding an auto accident on Interstate 20.
Reports from the Texas Department of Public Safety show that a pickup truck was traveling eastbound on Interstate 20 when it collided head-on with a second pickup truck.
The impact of the crash caused one of the involved trucks to burst into flames.
The drivers of both vehicles, identified as 78-year-old Samuel Caldwell of Sonora and 50-year-old Darrell Mills of Abilene, were both fatally injured in the accident. Emergency crews arrived at the scene and pronounced both men deceased.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
