Waskom, TX (June 7, 2022) – Authorities were dispatched to the scene of a motor vehicle accident in the Waskom area that ended in fatal injuries. On June 1, the police, firefighters, and emergency medical services were dispatched to the scene of a motor vehicle accident that took place on Interstate 20.
Reports from authorities show that just after midnight, a multivehicle collision took place on the eastbound side of Interstate 20. The crash caused delays between mile marker 634 and mile marker 635.
One person involved in the accident suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
One victim was airlifted to LSU in critical condition. Several other victims were transported to LSU and Christus Good Shepherd Marshall Hospital for emergency medical care.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
