Wills Point, TX – Fatal Truck Crash Reported on US-80 near FM 2965, Three Injured

Wills Point, TX (May 19, 2022) – One man has lost his life as a result of a truck accident that took place in Wills Point on Tuesday evening, May 17.

During the evening hours on Tuesday, the Texas Department of Public Safety was dispatched to the site of a crash on US Highway 80.

Reports from authorities show that a semi-truck was traveling through the intersection of US Highway 80 and Farm to Market Road 2965, just east of the Wills Point High School. For unknown reasons, the semi-truck collided with a passenger vehicle.

The car was occupied by four high school students. The four occupants of the car and the driver of the 18-wheeler were all rendered aid at the scene.

One of the people inside the sedan ended up passing away as a result of his injuries.

The three other students were transported to a hospital in Tyler for further care.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
