Alba, TX (January 12, 2023) – An automobile collision took place in Wood County on Saturday evening that claimed the lives of three victims. On January 7, the Texas Department of Public Safety was dispatched to a collision that occurred on US Highway 69.
At approximately 9:30 p.m., a 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe, driven by a 39-year-old woman, was traveling in the southeast direction on US Highway 69. For unknown reasons, the vehicle collided head-on with a 2017 Ford Explorer. The Ford was traveling northwest on US Highway 69 at the time, driven by a 44-year-old woman.
A third vehicle, which was identified as a 2020 Dodge ram 3500 pickup truck, which was telling a Tierney brand gooseneck trailer, collided with the passenger side of the Ford. The Dodge then went off the roadway and came to rest in a wooded area.
The 39-year-old woman died at the scene as a result of her accident. Her passenger, a 16-year-old male, and the 44-year-old female driver of the Ford were also pronounced deceased at the scene.
At this time, the Texas Department of Public Safety is working on a crash investigation.
Our condolences go out to the families of the three victims who died in this crash.
