Harlingen, TX (June 3, 2022) – An auto accident reported in the Harlingen area ended in injuries. On May 31, the police, firefighters, and emergency medical services were dispatched to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on South Business Highway 77.

Reports from local authorities show that a motorcycle and an SUV collided on South Business 77 in the area of Ed Carey Drive during the morning hours. The incident caused severe delays in the area as the police and emergency crews blocked off the roadway.

The motorcyclist and a passenger were transported to an area hospital. One victim was admitted in critical condition. The second victim was admitted with serious injuries.

The driver of the SUV and told passengers inside the vehicle fled the scene by foot. Those three occupants were later apprehended by the police and taken into custody.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
