Montgomery County, TX (February 14, 2023) – The Texas Department of Public Safety was dispatched to the scene of an auto accident involving a truck and a train on Monday morning that claimed one person’s life.
Just before 7:30 a.m. on February 13, authorities were notified that an automobile accident occurred on US Route 59.
According to law enforcement, a truck and a train collided on the roadway for unknown reasons. The incident caused a total of 16 train cars to derail.
One person involved in the crash was fatally injured. The victim was declared deceased by responding officers.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
