Odessa, TX (February 22, 2023) – Three were injured after a racing motorist crashed into another vehicle at an intersection in Odessa on Saturday, February 18.
The crash took place at the corner of 42nd Street and Golder Avenue at around 10:30 a.m. It was reported that 22-year-old Felipe Marcelano was traveling at a high rate of speed on 42nd Street as a pickup truck was attempting to make a turn at the intersection. Marcelano crashed into the pickup before leaving the roadway where he hit an electrical pole.
The 60-year-old man and a 58-year-old woman were injured and transported to a local hospital for treatment. Marcelano was also hospitalized and later charged with racing on a public highway.
An ongoing investigation into the incident is underway.
