Fatal Car Accident in Texas
In 2020, Texas saw one of the most deadly years in recent memory for motorists. According to the Texas Department of Transportation, there were 3,896 fatalities reported due to Texas car accidents. This was a 7.5% increase from the year prior when 3,623 people were killed on our state’s roadways. The most common cause of car accidents across Texas is driver negligence. Motorists who fail to follow traffic laws and have little regard for those around them are the drivers who are most often responsible for serious and fatal accidents. These accidents unfortunately can claim the lives of innocent victims.
Following a San Antonio car accident, it is important to have a full understanding of the law and your legal rights. Often, crash victims will make the mistake of attempting to handle their claims on their own. This leads to receiving an inadequate settlement from the insurance company. The settlement may not even pay all of the medical bills and will not leave the victim anything to help them move forward with their lives following the crash. Unfortunately, it is easy to fall into this trap.
