Tyler, TX – Philip Marsh Loses Life in Crash on TX-31 near County Rd 21

Tyler, TX (November 29, 2021) – One person has lost their life as a result of a motor vehicle accident in Tyler on Wednesday. On November 24, calls for assistance came in surrounding a crash on Texas State Highway 31.

Reports from the Texas Department of Public Safety show that a 2011 Chrysler HHR was traveling south on County Road 21. As the vehicle passed the intersection of Texas State Highway 31, it collided with a 2020 Toyota Yaris. The impact of the crash sent the Ford into oncoming traffic where it collided with a 2009 Ford F-250.

The driver of the Toyota, 83-year-old Philip Marsh, suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.

The driver of the Ford, 32-year-old James Holman, was treated at the scene. The driver of the Chevrolet, 27-year-old Thomas Coleman, was transported to UT-Health East Texas – Tyler for care.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
