Waco, TX (May 11, 2022) – A crash reported early Saturday morning in the Waco area has claimed the life of one woman, according to the police. At around 1:50 a.m., on May 7, the Waco Police Department was dispatched to the scene of an accident on Interstate 35.
Reports from the Waco Police Department show that a McClellan County Sheriff’s deputy was driving on Interstate 35 during the early morning hours. For unknown reasons, the vehicle the deputy was driving struck a pedestrian on the southbound side of the roadway.
The pedestrian, identified as a 24-year-old woman, suffered fatal injuries in the accident. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.
At this time, the circumstances surrounding the accident are under investigation.
