Amarillo, TX (March 11, 2023) – A woman was killed after her disabled car was struck by a tractor-trailer outside of Amarillo on Monday, March 6.
It was reported that the victim was driving a vehicle on Interstate 40 when she rear-ended a rental truck. This initial crash resulted in her vehicle being disabled on the interstate. It was then that an oncoming semi towing three truck trailers crashed into the disabled car.
The impact caused the driver to be ejected and she was pronounced dead at the scene by attending medical personnel. The other driver was also hurt and taken to Northwest Texas Hospital for treatment.
An ongoing investigation into the deadly accident is in progress.
