Andrews, TX – One Killed in Two-Vehicle MVA on FM 1788

Andrews, TX (April 22, 2022) – Authorities were dispatched to the scene of a motor vehicle accident in Andrews County that claimed one man’s life. On April 20, emergency crews were requested on-site at a crash on Farm to Market Road 1788.

Reports provided by the Texas Department of Public Safety show that a 2004 Freightliner truck was traveling north on Farm to Market Road 1788 while towing a trailer. For unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed into the southbound lanes and struck a 2008 Chevrolet Corvette.

The driver of the Corvette, a 54-year-old man from Andrews, was airlifted from the scene and flown to Permian Regional Medical Center. Authorities confirmed that he later passed away from his injuries.

Information about the truck driver’s condition is not available at this time.

Currently, the incident remains under investigation.
