Carthage, TX (October 29, 2021) – A motor vehicle accident reported in Panola County on Wednesday morning, October 27, claimed the lives of four victims.

Reports from the Texas Department of Public Safety show that a semi-truck tractor-trailer was traveling southwest on Texas State Highway 315. At the same time, a sedan was traveling northeast on the same roadway.

For unknown reasons, the two vehicles collided, blocking the roadway and preventing thru-traffic.

The driver of the car, 27-year-old Jonathan Estrada was declared deceased at the scene. Three passengers in the vehicle, 26-year-old Jacqueline Martinez, a 9-year-old girl, and a 4-year-old child, were all pronounced deceased at the scene.

A third child, a 9-year-old girl, was rushed to Tyler Medical Center in critical condition.

The driver of the semi-truck, 29-year-old Isaias Cordero Herrera, and his passenger, 36-year-old Rogelio Flores Almora, were both transported to Henderson Medical Center for care.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.

Our thoughts are with Isaias Cordero Herrera, Rogelio Flores Almora, and the child injured in this accident. We hope for their full recovery.

We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the families of Jonathan Estrada, Jacqueline Martinez, and the children who lost their lives in this accident. Our thoughts are with them at this time.
