Corsicana, TX (March 14, 2023) – A woman from Washington was killed on Tuesday, March 7, following a pileup crash in the Corsicana area.
The collision took place on Interstate 45 near FM 739 at around 2:20 p.m. It was reported that a 46-year-old woman from Lacey, Washington was behind the wheel of a southbound Freightliner truck tractor towing a semi-trailer. There was reportedly another accident on the interstate involving three other tractor-trailers, and the Freightliner collided with these vehicles as they were stopped on the road.
The impact caused the Freightliner to catch fire. The operator of the rig sustained fatal injuries and was later pronounced dead.
The identity of the deceased has been withheld.
Local authorities are handling the ongoing accident investigation.
