Fatal Truck Accidents in Texas
According to reports, more than 3,800 people lost their lives in motor vehicle accidents across the state of Texas during 2020. Roughly 16% of victims who lose their lives are involved in accidents with semi-trucks and large commercial vehicles. Truck accidents often have more severe results due to the size and weight of these vehicles.
Although there are strict laws in place surrounding truck drivers and the amount of time they are able to remain out on roadways, we see a significant number of crashes caused by drowsy driving. Other leading causes of truck accidents in our state include:
- Drivers who are under the influence of drugs or alcohol
- Taking prescription drugs
- Driving while distracted by phones, radios, and other objects
- Driving while eating
- Speeding
- Failing to yield the right of way to other vehicles
These and other acts of negligence often cause serious accidents. If you have lost a loved one as a result of another driver’s actions, you must seek legal assistance right away. Our wrongful death lawyers in San Antonio can meet with you at your earliest convenience to discuss the circumstances surrounding your loved one’s accident.
