Gaines County, TX (December 29, 2021) – Two people have lost their lives following a motor vehicle accident in Gaines County on Monday morning, December 27. At around 8:40 a.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the scene of a crash on County Road 205.
Reports from DPS show that a vehicle was traveling north on County Road 205 while a second vehicle towing a trailer was traveling east on County Road 206. As both vehicles passed through the intersection, they collided.
Two people inside one vehicle were fatally injured. The victims, 22-year-old Marcus Hernandez and 66-year-old Jerry Cornett, were both pronounced deceased at the scene.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
