Goliad, TX (January 22, 2022) – One man has lost his life as a result of a motor vehicle accident in Goliad County on Thursday morning, January 20. At around 7 a.m., authorities were notified that a crash required assistance just 5.5 miles from Goliad.
According to reports from local authorities, 58-year-old Douglas Raymond Corrigan was driving a 2002 Ford F-150 pickup truck while delivering newspapers for the Victoria Advocate. While traveling on US Highway 183, his vehicle became involved in a crash with a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck just north of Farm to Market Road 622.
The impact of the crash caused the Ford to side skid and overturn. The Silverado exited the side of the roadway and came to rest in a ditch.
The Silverado driver, 56-year-old Barbara Lynne Hunt, was transported to Cuero Regional Hospital for the treatment of injuries.
Corrigan sustained fatal injuries in the accident and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
