Jefferson, TX (August 5, 2022) – A truck accident took place on Wednesday morning in Jefferson County that claimed one person’s life. At around 6:45 a.m., on August 3, the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the scene of a crash that occurred on Interstate 10.
Preliminary investigations provided by the Texas Department of Public Safety show that a 2005 Chevrolet SUV was traveling westbound on Interstate 10. For reasons unknown, the vehicle collided with a 2014 Mack truck just east of Farm to Market Road 365.
The impact of the crash caused the SUV to leave the roadway and strike a ditch. The vehicle then crashed into a guard rail and flipped over.
The driver inside of the SUV, a 74-year-old man from Houston, Texas, suffered fatal injuries. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding officers.
No other injuries were reported as a result of this crash.
The circumstances surrounding the accident are under investigation at this time.
