Lamb County, TX (October 23, 2021) – A motor vehicle accident reported on Wednesday in Lamb County took one man’s life while leaving a second person seriously injured.
At around 6:30 p.m., on October 20, emergency crews were notified that their assistance was needed on-site at a crash on US Highway 70. Reports from authorities show that a Ford Escort was traveling east on US Highway 70 in the area of Farm to Market 303. For unknown reasons, the Ford collided with a Chevrolet Silverado as the pickup truck turned in front of it.
The driver of the Ford, 68-year-old Roberto Fuentes, sustained fatal injuries and died immediately at the scene.
The driver of the Chevrolet, 68-year-old Stephen Edwards, was transported to University Medical Center in Lubbock with serious injuries.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
