Lewisville, TX (December 31, 2021) – One man has lost his life as a result of a motor vehicle accident in the Lewisville area on Thursday morning, December 30. At around 1:45 a.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety was notified that their assistance was needed at the scene of a crash on Interstate 35.

Reports from DPS show that a vehicle was stopped along the southbound side of Interstate 35. For unknown reasons, a semi-truck passing through the area crashed into the car. The impact of the crash caused the fuel tank in the semi-truck to rupture and spill fuel across several lanes of the highway.

The driver of the first vehicle, 81-year-old Kenneth Olson, was transported to Medical City Lewisville where he passed away from his injuries.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.

We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of Kenneth Olson. Our thoughts are with them at this time.
