Lubbock, TX – Man Loses Life in Pedestrian Crash on University Ave near 58th St

Lubbock, TX (April 13, 2022) – One man lost his life following a pedestrian accident on Sunday morning in the Lubbock area. At around 8:55 .am., on April 10, emergency crews were dispatched to the site of a crash on University Avenue.

Reports provided by authorities show that a 42-year-old man was driving an SUV south on University Avenue when his vehicle crossed over onto the median and struck a 60-year-old male pedestrian.

The SUV continued south before crashing into a stop sign and a signal light pole near 58th Street.

The pedestrian and the driver of the SUV were both transported to University Medical Center for care. Authorities confirmed that the pedestrian passed away from his injuries after arriving. The Major Crash Unit at the Lubbock Police Department is currently investigating the crash.
