Pittsburg, TX (December 10, 2021) – A motor vehicle accident reported in Camp County has claimed one man’s life on Tuesday morning. At around 4:45 a.m., on December 7, calls for assistance came in surrounding an auto accident on Highway 271.
Reports from authorities show that 59-year-old Edward Salazar was driving a semi-truck north on Highway 271. At the same time, 23-year-old Luis Arellano Velazquez was driving a sedan in the same direction on the road. For unknown reasons, the two vehicles collided just north of Pittsburg.
Velazquez sustained severe injuries in the accident and was rushed to a local hospital. Authorities confirmed that the man passed away from his injuries after arriving.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation. No other injuries were reported.
