Rose City, TX (April 22, 2022) – Two people lost their lives as a result of a motor vehicle accident in the Rose City area on Wednesday afternoon, April 20. At around 1 p.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the scene of an auto accident on Interstate 10.

Reports from DPS show that a 2004 Ford SUV was traveling on Interstate 10 when one of the tires on the vehicle blew out. The driver of the vehicle lost control, causing it to collide with a 2015 Dodge pickup truck near mile marker 858.

Several vehicles passing through the area also became involved in the crash. The vehicles were described as a 2020 Peterbilt semi-truck tractor-trailer, a 2019 Ford pickup truck, a 2021 Hyundai passenger vehicle, a 2006 Toyota passenger vehicle, and a 2018 Dodge pickup truck.

Two people in the Hyundai suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.

The 54-year-old female driver of the Toyota, who is from Orange, was rushed to St Elizabeth Hospital for the treatment of injuries.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
