Sabinal, TX – John Walts, John Hawkins Killed in Crash on FM 187

Sabinal, TX (January 28, 2022) – Two men have lost their lives as a result of a motor vehicle accident in the Sabinal area on Tuesday evening. At around 7:14 p.m., on January 25, emergency crews were requested on-site at a crash on Farm to Market Road 187.

Reports from the Texas Department of Public Safety show that 45-year-old John Allen Walts was driving a white 2015 Ford F-350 pickup truck north on Farm to Market Road 187. For unknown reasons, his vehicle collided with a 2017 Ford Transit van, which was driven by 57-year-old John Patrick Hawkins.

Walts and Watkins were both fatally injured in the accident. Both men were pronounced deceased at the scene.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
