San Marcos, TX (January 5, 2022) – A young woman has lost her life as a result of a two-vehicle truck accident in the San Marcos area on Monday morning, January 3.
At around 2:15 a.m., a silver Mazda was traveling through the area where the ramp meets Interstate 35. For unknown reasons, the vehicle collided with a box truck. The impact of the crash caused the Mazda to flip over.
The Mazda driver, identified as 18-year-old Iliana Velez, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
